Kyoritsu KEW 3166 Analogue Insulation Tester

Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 3166 is a compact, lightweight analogue insulation tester for measuring the insulation resistance of electrical wiring, cables and equipment at 1000 V. It is the higher-voltage companion to the 500 V KEW 3165, sharing the same easy-to-carry body and expanded, easy-to-read megohm scale. Its robust construction suits demanding industrial environments and everyday installation, inspection and maintenance work.

The KEW 3166 applies a 1000 V DC test voltage and measures insulation resistance up to 2000 MΩ (mid-scale 50 MΩ), with its most accurate readings across the 2 to 1000 MΩ range. It also measures AC voltage up to 600 V, so a circuit can be checked for the presence of voltage before an insulation test. Powered by four AA batteries and weighing about 330 g, it is a simple, dependable tester.
