Megger MOM200A 200 A Micro-ohmmeter

The Megger MOM200A is for substation teams who need a rugged 200 A contact resistance test on HV circuit breakers, disconnectors and busbar joints without a computer. Set the current, press the resistance button and read the result directly: 0–1999 µΩ with 1 µΩ resolution, or 0–19.99 mΩ with 10 µΩ, at ±1% of reading +1 digit. Its strength is long runs at 100 A. Megger rates 100 A DC for 5 minutes on and 15 minutes rest, or 15 minutes on and 60 minutes rest, and 200 A for 20 s on and 5 minutes rest. Sustained current helps find poor connections.

For busbars, Megger’s method is to connect only the current cables, set 100 A and move an external voltmeter from joint to joint. At 100 A, 0.1 mV equals 1 µΩ. A current shunt output (10 mV per 100 A, ±0.5%) lets you check the actual current. The open-circuit voltage is 4.7 V DC and maximum power draw is 1610 VA. Cable set GA-02053 has 2 × 5 m 25 mm² current cables and 2 × 5 m 2.5 mm² sensing cables. Optional 10 m (GA-03103, 35 mm²) and 15 m (GA-05153, 50 mm²) sets reach further. Megger lists no data storage or communication, so results are read from the display. The instrument weighs 14.6 kg, or 26 kg with accessories and transport case.
