Megger SFX32 Cable Test and Fault Location System

Overview

The Megger SFX32 is a portable, trolley-mounted cable test and fault location system for low- and medium-voltage cables. It brings together everything needed for a complete fault-finding job – cable testing, fault prelocation, fault conditioning (burning), sheath-fault location and pinpointing – in a single compact unit that can be wheeled to site.

At its heart is the Teleflex SX reflectometer with 400 MHz sampling and a 10.1-inch touchscreen, supporting classic TDR plus the high-voltage prelocation methods needed for real faults: arc reflection (ARM multishot), impulse-current decoupling (ICE), decay and intermittent-fault location. An integrated surge generator (1750 J, up to 32 kV) provides thumping for pinpointing, and DC testing/burning conditions difficult faults. Guided easyGO and full Expert modes make it approachable for occasional users and powerful for specialists.
