Description

Amprobe RS-1007 PRO

The Amprobe RS-1007 PRO CAT IV 1000 A Analog Clamp Meter is a robust and versatile tool designed for professionals working in demanding electrical environments. This analog clamp meter is particularly noted for its safety features and operational capabilities, making it suitable for various applications.

Key Features

Measurement Capabilities

AC Current: Measures alternating current (AC) up to 1000 A.
Voltage: Capable of measuring AC voltage up to 600 V.
Resistance and Continuity: Includes functions for measuring resistance up to 1000 ohms and continuity testing.

Safety Ratings

CAT IV 600 V: This meter is rated for use in environments with high electrical hazards, complying with the IEC safety standard 61010. This makes it suitable for use when users are exposed to high voltages.

Operational Range

Temperature: The Amprobe RS-1007 PRO operates effectively in a temperature range of 5°F to 122°F (-15°C to 50°C), which is broader than many digital counterparts that may struggle in extreme conditions.
Frequency: It can operate on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz electrical systems.

User-Friendly Design

Analog Display: This display features an easy-to-read rotary scale, which can be advantageous in bright lighting conditions or where digital displays might be harder to read.
Pointer Lock: This feature allows users to lock the needle in place for easy reading and to protect the meter during transport.

Power Requirements

The Amprobe RS-1007 PRO does not require batteries for measuring current and voltage, which is a significant advantage in fieldwork where battery life can be a concern. It only requires a battery for resistance measurements.

Additional Information

The clamp meter includes essential accessories such as test leads, a user manual, and a carrying case, making it a complete package for professionals. Its design is particularly beneficial for outdoor use or in environments where durability is crucial, as it is less likely to malfunction in cold temperatures than digital meters.
