Megger R 30 Test Van System

Overview

The Megger R 30 is a high-power, van-mounted cable fault location and diagnostic system built for medium- and high-voltage cable networks. It integrates a complete high-voltage test plant – controlled by a central PLC with full safety monitoring – so utilities and contractors can prelocate, pinpoint and diagnose faults on HV cables from a single mobile laboratory.

The system supports the full range of modern fault-location methods: arc reflection (ARM), decay travelling-wave prelocation, impulse-current decoupling (ICE), surge generation (thumping) with 2500 J energy, and VLF 0.1 Hz cosine-square testing for PE, XLPE and paper-oil cables, plus low-voltage pulse-echo reflectometry via an integrated Teleflex M. With DC test voltages to 110 kV as standard (400 kV optional), an internal SF6 HV switch and comprehensive interlocks, the R 30 handles the highest-voltage cable classes safely and efficiently.
