Overview
The Megger TORKEL 910 is a portable battery load unit used to verify the true capacity and condition of stationary battery banks in substations, telecom sites, data centres, power plants and other installations that depend on reliable standby power. As the entry model of the TORKEL 900 series, it lets a battery bank be tested while it remains in service and controls the discharge precisely so the battery is loaded exactly as required to confirm whether it still meets its rated capacity.
The TORKEL 910 draws up to 110 A at system voltages up to 300 V, with a maximum load of 15 kW. It discharges in constant-current, constant-power, constant-resistance or current/power-profile modes, so the test can be matched to the battery specification or to a real-world load profile. Operation is via a 7-inch capacitive colour touchscreen, and test data can be transferred to a PC for further analysis and reporting.
