Megger TTR25-1 Hand-Held Transformer Turns Ratio Tester

Overview

The Megger TTR25-1 is a compact, handheld transformer turns ratio (TTR) tester for single- and three-phase distribution and power transformers, tested phase by phase. Comparing the measured turns ratio with the nameplate value reveals shorted turns, open circuits and other winding or core faults, making the TTR25-1 a convenient tool for commissioning, routine maintenance and fault-finding in the field.

The TTR25-1 shares the simple one-button operation of the TTR20-1 but extends the measurement range to a high turns ratio of 20,000:1, so it suits transformers with very high ratios. It measures turns ratio, excitation current and polarity using a low excitation voltage and an internally generated 55 Hz test frequency for universal 50/60 Hz operation. At just 870 g it is one of the lightest instruments of its kind, is powered by standard AA batteries and displays results on a high-contrast backlit LCD.
