Overview

The Megger SmartFuse 2 (also known as the SmartFuse 250 / SFC 250) is an intelligent electronic fuse system for monitoring and fault location in low-voltage distribution grids. Fitted in place of a conventional fuse in an LV feeder, it continuously watches the network and, when a fault occurs, helps pinpoint it — all without disconnecting consumers from the supply. For utilities this means shorter outages, better visibility of network condition and faster, more targeted repairs.

The SmartFuse 2 performs real-time monitoring and analysis of current and voltage, giving early warning of impending overload, and can automatically restore supply after transient faults while logging electrical events for later analysis. Rated for currents up to 250 A, it uses a modular multi-polar design compatible with NH02 and NH03 fuse holders and offers GSM, 3G, WiFi or LAN connectivity so data can be accessed remotely. It is aimed at network operators who want to keep outage times to a minimum in residential and commercial LV networks.
