Megger SPI500 Smart Primary Injection Test System

Overview

The Megger SPI500 is a compact, portable smart primary injection test system for verifying the operation of circuit breakers, reclosers, ground-fault relays and high-speed fuses. The main unit delivers up to 2500 A, and adding boosters extends output to 5000 A or 6500 A, so a wide range of switchgear can be tested from one scalable platform.

Automatic current regulation holds the injected current constant even as the load impedance changes during a test, improving accuracy and repeatability. Three switchable output taps match voltage to the device under test, while a high-precision timer and auto-ranging metering capture trip levels and times. The Smart Touch View Interface simplifies manual operation, and Ethernet PC control with hundreds of built-in circuit-breaker time-current curves enables fully automated testing and reporting.
