The megger smrt46d is a multipurpose, lightweight, field portable test set capable of testing a wide variety of electro-mechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based protective relays, motor overload relays, and similar protective devices.

The unit can be operated either manually via the built-in touch-screen user interface (STVI) or placed under full computer control via RTMS, Relay Test Management Software, running on a PC.

The Smart Touch-View Interface™ is Megger’s second-generation manual/semi-automatic user interface powered by the latest RTMS software. It features a large, high-resolution, high-definition TFT LCD touchscreen that clearly displays measured values such as AC and DC amps, AC and DC volts, time in seconds, and cycles. Depending on the test type selected, additional values like phase angle, frequency, ohms, watts, VA, or power factor may also be displayed.

• Smart Touch View Interface (STVI): The SMRT46D is equipped with an integrated Smart Touch View Interface, which allows for manual control without the need for a PC. This high-resolution graphic touch screen makes the tester more intuitive and accessible, enabling technicians to perform manual, steady-state, and dynamic testing effortlessly. The interface includes manual test screens and built-in preset test routines for the most commonly used relays.
• AVTS and RTMS Software Compatibility: For more advanced testing scenarios, both the SMRT46 and SMRT46D can be controlled via PC using the Advanced Visual Testing Software (AVTS) or the RTMS. These software programs enhance the functionality of the test sets by providing sophisticated management tools for all aspects of protective relay testing, making them compatible with Windows operating systems from XP up to Windows 10.
• Flexible Configuration: The modular nature of the SMRT46D allows it to be customized with the addition of up to three voltage-current (VIGEN) modules. This adaptability makes it possible to conduct detailed three-phase testing on devices that require a three-phase four-wire wye-connected source. The addition of a fourth voltage channel provides an AC reference/synchronizing/polarizing voltage or a DC battery simulator voltage source, which is crucial for comprehensive system checks.
