Overview
The Megger PS9116 is a microprocessor-based, high-current circuit breaker test set used to verify the trip characteristics of low-voltage circuit breakers. It delivers up to 1,600 A continuously and much higher instantaneous currents – up to 19,200 A through air-frame breakers and 14,400 A through molded-case breakers – so both long-time and instantaneous trip functions can be proven under realistic fault currents.
Controlled by the PLC-2000 with a clear alphanumeric display, the PS9116 automates test sequences and measures trip time with a high-resolution digital timer. As well as air-frame and molded-case breakers, it tests thermal/magnetic overload relays and CT ratios, and can be used in series to test high-voltage breakers and protective relays, making it a versatile tool for switchgear maintenance shops and commissioning teams.
