Fluke 15B MAX FAQ
What is the difference between the Fluke 15B MAX and the 17B MAX?
They share the same voltage, current, resistance and capacitance ranges. The 17B MAX adds temperature measurement (with a type-K thermocouple), frequency and duty cycle, and the 15B MAX doesn’t have these. If you only need electrical checks, the 15B MAX is the better-value choice. For model comparisons, see our Fluke 17B MAX page.
How does the 15B MAX improve on the 15B+?
Fluke describes the 15B MAX as continuing the 15B+ design. It adds an input alert alarm for leads in the wrong jack, wakes from sleep when you press any button, and comes with fine-tip test leads.
What is the safety rating of the Fluke 15B MAX?
It is rated CAT III 600 V to IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-030, which covers distribution boards and building wiring. For work at the service entrance, choose a CAT IV meter such as the Fluke 87V.
Can the 15B MAX measure capacitance and 10 A current?
Yes. It measures capacitance from 40.00 nF to 2000 µF and AC/DC current up to 10.00 A.
Which battery does it use?
It runs on 2 × AA (IEC LR6) batteries, rated for at least 500 hours.
