Overview
The Megger S1-568/2 is a high-performance diagnostic insulation resistance tester delivering test voltages up to 5 kV. Part of the S1 “/2” range, it measures insulation resistance to 15 TΩ and provides the complete set of diagnostic tests – timed IR, polarisation index (PI), dielectric absorption ratio (DAR), dielectric discharge (DD), stepped voltage (SV) and ramp – that engineers use to assess and trend the condition of cables, rotating machines, transformers and switchgear.
A standout PI-predictor function uses the first part of the IR curve to predict the five-minute value, saving test time, while a powerful guard terminal (rejection over 5000:1) and an advanced adaptive noise filter keep readings accurate in electrically noisy environments. A colour display, on-board logging, isolated USB and Bluetooth to CertSuite Asset, a Li-ion battery and a CAT IV 600 V rating make it a capable, portable diagnostic tool. (The S1-1068/2 and S1-1568/2 offer the same features at 10 kV and 15 kV.)
