Overview

The Megger SMRT46 is a high-capacity multi-phase relay test system designed to test the full range of protective relays used in transmission and generation substations. Configured with up to three voltage-and-current (VIGEN) modules, it can provide up to six current sources – three high-current/high-power channels plus three convertible voltage channels – so it can reproduce complex multi-phase fault conditions for electromechanical, solid-state and microprocessor relays.

Each current channel delivers 32 A continuously (60 A short-time), paralleling to 180 A, and channels can be put in series for higher compliance voltage on high-impedance relays. Variable-frequency output (to 1000 Hz), COMTRADE transient playback, a high-precision timer and options for IEC 61850 GOOSE and GPS end-to-end testing (via MGTR-II) make the SMRT46 a complete solution for advanced protection testing, controlled by the STVI touchscreen or AVTS/RTMS software.
