Megger TSX-303 TRAX Automatic Switch Box

Overview

The Megger TSX-303 is an automatic switch box designed to work with the TRAX multifunction transformer and substation test system. It connects to all of a transformer’s bushings at once and then switches the TRAX test leads electronically, so a single lead connection is enough to test every phase and tap. This removes the need to climb up to the transformer and re-connect leads between tests, which dramatically shortens test times and improves operator safety.

The TSX-303 provides eight bushing terminals — four high-voltage (H1/H2/H3/H0) and four low-voltage (X1/X2/X3/X0) — supporting transformers with up to three windings. Working with TRAX it automates winding resistance measurement (up to 16 A), transformer turns ratio (up to 250 V) and demagnetization, with the whole test sequence controlled automatically from the TRAX software over an Ethernet control link. The switch box sits on the transformer and is connected to the ground-mounted TRAX by three 10-metre cables.
