Megger DLRO-H200 Overview

The Megger DLRO-H200 is a lightweight hand-held micro-ohmmeter that delivers up to 220 A test current from batteries, combining high-current performance with true portability. Featuring Megger’s DualGround method and 4-wire Kelvin measurement, it measures from 0 to 1000 mΩ and weighs just 1 kg — ideal for testing circuit-breaker and switchgear contacts safely in the field.

Who the Megger DLRO-H200 is for

The Megger DLRO-H200 is for substation and switchgear teams whose permit-to-work rules require safety grounds to stay on during an outage. With DualGround, the breaker stays grounded on both sides throughout the test, which removes the steps of lifting and re-applying a ground just to measure contact resistance. An ultracapacitor, charged from AA cells, supplies the high current pulse, so there is no mains lead or heavy current source to carry.

Datasheet figures (DLRO-H200 V08a) that matter on site:

• Minimum current guarantee selectable at 50 A or 100 A (for loads up to 2 mΩ), with more than 100 A DC and up to 220 A available
• Typically 2200 tests per charge at 50 A and 0.1 s, or 800 at 100 A
• ±1% of reading ±1 digit up to 1999 µΩ, ±2% to 500 mΩ and ±4% from 500 to 1000 mΩ
• Pass/fail limits from 1 µΩ to 1999 mΩ, three user presets and a trigger input for probe-button testing
• Typical recharge of 3 hours at 25 °C; 12–24 V DC input (2 A max)

The DLRO-H200 is the hand-held, battery-powered 220 A model with DualGround. The Megger DLRO200 is a mains-powered bench micro-ohmmeter offering up to 200 A with a lower minimum resistance range for demanding substation work.

What breaker testers ask about the DLRO-H200:

• How does a 1 kg unit give 220 A? It charges an ultracapacitor from its batteries and discharges it through the test object, sampling voltage and current together and averaging the results.
• How does DualGround inject current? Through the existing grounding cable, using one of Megger’s optional cable kits with 5, 10 or 15 m sense cables (GA-00380, GA-00382, GA-00384).
• How long between shots? At the 100 A setting into 100 µΩ, recovery is typically 8 s after a 0.1 s pulse, 16 s after 0.6 s and 100 s after 3 s.
• Can I use longer leads? Yes, but Megger notes that the 10 m, 16 mm² Kelvin clamp cable lowers the maximum current.
