Megger Resonating inductor

The Megger Resonating Inductor Capacitance Range Extenders are innovative accessories designed to enhance the functionality of the DELTA4000 units. These extenders significantly expand the capacitance and power factor/dissipation factor testing capabilities of the DELTA4000 automated insulation power factor test sets, which are pivotal in assessing the integrity and performance of electrical insulation.

Specifically engineered to handle capacitances up to 1μF at 10 kV, the Resonating Inductor employs a manual hand-crank tuning wheel. This wheel allows operators to adjust the inductance precisely, tuning the parallel circuit connected to the test set’s internal power supply for minimum load current. This precise control is critical for achieving accurate measurements in field conditions.

The design of the Resonating Inductor includes a core gap gauge. This feature is essential as it displays the position of the inductor core, providing real-time feedback and further enhancing the precision of adjustments made during testing procedures.

Built for both durability and ease of transport, the Resonating Inductor is housed in a robust metal enclosure that is welded throughout to endure the rigors of field operations. It is self-contained and air-insulated, ensuring safety and reliability when deployed in various environments. To aid in mobility, the unit is equipped with large wheels and handles, making it easy to move between test sites.

Additionally, Megger provides adapter kits which are compatible with older Resonating Inductor models. This compatibility ensures that users with existing equipment can upgrade their systems without the need for complete replacement, thereby extending the life and utility of their testing apparatus.
