The Tekneka 170 is a frying oil tester designed to evaluate the quality of frying oil within a range of 0-40% TPM. It also measures temperatures from 30 to 200°C (86 to 392°F). The device features an LCD that displays both the TPM value and the oil temperature. By measuring the TPM value, you can assess the age and quality of the cooking oil, which degrades over time due to heat exposure. The TPM value indicates thermal oxidative stress in the frying oil, and the multicolored LEDs provide a direct indication of the oil’s quality.
