Product Overview

Function & application

The device has a wide range of applications, including the detection and size of concealed cracks, voids, disbands, and other discontinuities in welds, forgings, billets, axles, shafts, tanks, pressure vessels, turbines, and structural elements.

Working Principle

1_When a flaw appears in a workpiece made of homogeneous material, the defect will reveal the interface between the defect and the workpiece’s other media.
2_The pulsating ultrasonic wave will create reflection when it comes into contact with the interface because the acoustic resistance is different there. The probe will take in the energy that has been reflected.
3_The fault depth in the workpiece will then be represented by a reflection waveform at a specific abscissa point on the display screen. Due to various imperfections, each of which reflects the nature of the defect, the height and form of the reflecting wave will change.
